Introduction The Constitution of India is the supreme law of the land. It provides the framework within which the government functions and citizens enjoy their rights and perform their duties. It is the longest written constitution in the world, reflecting India’s diversity, history, and aspirations. The Constitution was drafted by the Constituent Assembly, chaired by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and the Drafting Committee was headed by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, known as the Father of the Indian Constitution. It was adopted on 26th November 1949 and came into effect on 26th January 1950 (celebrated as Republic Day).
